Seisia - Northwest tip of Cape York

After our four day crossing of the Gulf of Carpentaria, a quick stop just offshore of Seisia to wait for the incoming tide to provide us enough water to pass through the channel and a short sleep, we anchored in the Seisia anchorage at around 14:00. It was great to be an anchor in a calm and quiet location after bashing through 4 metre waves the last four days. At around 16:00 we took the dinghy ashore to have a quick look around and check out the grocery store to see what stock they have. The Seisia anchorage from the beach It did not take long so walk through town. There is only one store, the grocery and general store which has a good selection of groceries for such a remote location. There is also a coffee shop but it is only open in the mornings - we may visit it tomorrow morning to see what it has to offer.
